Position: Server
Reports to: Restaurant Director

Defined as elegant yet approachable dining through the passion and commitment of a team of award winning chefs, renowned managers and wine directors, this new fine dining seafood restaurant, housed in a historic building in Union Square, is currently conducting a search for servers.

With a philosophy that the soul of the restaurant is found in its kitchen, this definitive seafood restaurant specializes in fresh, sustainable local fin and shellfish and celebrates the bounty of the sea. JOB SUMMARY:
233 Park Avenue South is seeking Servers to join our opening team. The ideal candidates are well-spoken, organized, confident, outgoing, and well-presented. A minimum of two years serving experience in a fine-dining setting is required. If you are recognized for being team-oriented, motivated, energetic and organized, we invite you to apply!

OPERATIONS:
- Complete opening sidework checklist for shift daily
- Prepare dining room for service by setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, plates and utensils
- Greet guests promptly and take initial beverage order
- Help guests to make selections from food and beverage menus, suggest courses and pairings, explain any off-menu dishes, answering all food preparation questions
- Take orders from guests and input into POS, ensuring 100% accuracy
- Handle guests’ special dietary needs, allergies or special requests with utmost sensitivity, following Company procedure
- Communicate with kitchen to manage timing of courses, any guest feedback, etc.
- Deal with guest complaints by finding a way to say yes; Involve the Manager on Duty as needed
- Process guest payments in timely, accurate manner
- Process financials on shift-by-shift basis.
- Accurately report cash tips and contribute to tip pool; Record tip information on sheet, as directed by Management
- Maintain expert knowledge of all menu offerings
- Update knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities
- Maintain general knowledge of Company, location, transportation, Management team, etc.
- Complete closing side work checklist for shift daily
- Maintain sanitation to Department of Health standards; Keep work area clean and organized
- Inform Manager on Duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations
- Complete other duties as assigned by a supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Able to lift 30+ pounds
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Must have basic math skills
- Maintain friendly, helpful and positive attitude at all times
- Polished personal presentation; Grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Reference guide
- Communicate information effectively and efficiently
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions
- Ability to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintains professionalism when working under stress
- Attends mandatory staff meetings
- Adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
- Unpack, stock, & organize all items in and around the restaurant to maintain highest level of cleanliness possible
- Perform all other related and compatible duties as assigned by the Management Team
- Adhere to all HR policies and procedures
