Join us for an exciting new Mediterranean restaurant, located right by Little Island, and be a key player in crafting unforgettable culinary experiences for our guests.  


Position Summary:

At OfCorsica, the Prep Cook plays a crucial role in supporting our culinary team by preparing ingredients and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment. This position involves tasks such as washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients, as well as ensuring that all food items are properly stored and labeled. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to upholding our high standards of food quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop foundational skills and grow within a dynamic kitchen team


Tasks/Responsibilities: 

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare ingredients for kitchen service (wash, slice, peel, measure, mix) according to recipe standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and perform duties across various prep stations as needed
  • Weigh, portion, store, label, and date food items following proper food safety and rotation practices (FIFO)
  • Maintain clean and sanitized workstations, tools, and prep areas at all times
  • Restock and organize stations and kitchen supplies as necessary
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines in compliance with company standards
  • Stay knowledgeable of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and food presentation expectations
  • Maintain professionalism by arriving on time, in proper uniform, with a clean and presentable appearance
  • Be mindful of noise and volume in an open kitchen setting
  • Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen leadership
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Proficient knife skills and basic cooking techniques

  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

  • Ability to follow recipes and prep lists accurately

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills

  • Dependable with a strong work ethic

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
