Description

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Payroll Advisor to join our Finance team at Country House Weddings Ltd. This part-time position is ideal for a payroll professional who enjoys accuracy, compliance, and providing expert advice to managers and teams across our beautiful venues.

You’ll take ownership of the full payroll cycle — ensuring our weekly and monthly pay runs are completed efficiently — while also advising on payroll queries, statutory payments, and best practice processes. You’ll work closely with Finance and HR to support data accuracy, reporting, and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on weekly and monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Provide advice and support to managers and staff on payroll-related matters
  • Process SSP and manage absence records, ensuring compliance with current legislation
  • Assist with HR data cleansing and maintenance of accurate employee records in payroll and HR systems
  • Produce payroll and HR-related reports, including management summaries and venue-level data
  • Ensure wage sheets are correct, approved, and distributed to Venue Managers
  • Act as the main point of contact for all payroll and PAYE queries
  • Manage statutory deductions, including court orders, AEOs, and student loans
  • Support the Finance Manager with payroll analysis and process improvements
  • Assist in the implementation and optimisation of the Harri system
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and accuracy at all times

About You

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a payroll advisory or senior payroll role
  • Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, including SSP, SMP, and other statutory payments
  • Confident managing weekly and monthly payrolls end-to-end
  • Experience using the Harri system is essential
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills
  • High attention to detail, strong Excel skills, and experience producing payroll and HR reports
  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently across multiple venues

Benefits

  • Free on-site parking
  • Access to Wagestream for flexible pay
  • Supportive and professional team environment
  • Beautiful workplace settings across our Country House Weddings venues
  • Opportunity to contribute to a respected and growing company

Additional Information
This role is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave for an initial period of 9 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months depending on the return date of the employee on maternity leave.

This is a part time role, working 3 days per week over Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
