AREA MANAGER

Rockfish, currently named in the top 50 of best companies or to work for, is expanding, with new locations planned for 2024 and 2025.

Were seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Manager based in Dorset, to lead and support our restaurant teams in the Poole, Weymouth and Lyme Regis area. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Support:
  • Manage and approve general managers’ holiday schedules, ensuring operational coverage during absences.
  • Provide relief support, working on-site as required to maintain seamless operations.
  • Mentor general managers to meet KPIs and reach their full potential.
Operational Excellence:
  • Guide general managers in achieving efficient restaurant operations and exceeding budgeted profitability.
  • Drive high levels of customer service and hospitality, ensuring consistent food quality and NPS scores above 80.
  • Approve and oversee staff schedules to align with budgets and operational need.
Staff Training & Development:
  • Deliver induction and training programs for general managers and managers in training.
  • Coach junior managers and team members for career progression, using company training structures.
  • Support new restaurant openings, ensuring smooth operations and financial targets are met post-launch.
Compliance & Standards:
  • Ensure adherence to Food Safety, Health and Safety, and Licensing Laws.
  • Achieve and maintain 5-star EHO ratings and compliance scores of at least 80%.
  • Maintain all equipment and property in excellent condition.
Performance Management:
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) for all sites, including: Sales exceeding budget.
  • Effective labour management with budget.
  • Stock control and margins meeting targets.
  • Staff retention at a minimum of 70%.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Head of Restaurants on site performance.
Ambassadorship:
  • Represent Rockfish’s culture, energy, and values across your sites.
  • Build relationships with guests, team members, and the local community.
  • Promote sustainable fishing and environmental practices to both guests and teams.
