Location: Chinatown, London
Job Type: Full-time, Tuesday–Saturday, with some evenings required
Salary: Competitive, well above the London market rate for this role
Start Date: ASAP – we're looking to fill this role immediately
Opium is London's award-winning, multi-room cocktail bar tucked away in the heart of Chinatown – the kind of place people whisper about before they've even found the door. Part of The Breakfast Group, we're looking for someone loud in the best way: big energy, sharp instincts and a genuine love of connecting with people, to help us turn every visit into a story worth telling.
If you're the person who already knows the concierge at three hotels, gets a table anywhere, and can talk a stranger into becoming a regular by the end of one conversation, this is your room.
The RoleAs our Events and Experience Executive, you'll be the connective tissue between our guests, our events and our reputation as one of London's most distinctive nights out. You'll shape the guest journey from first enquiry to last cocktail, run the private events pipeline, and be the face that welcomes clients through the door and hands them off seamlessly to the floor team.
You'll have your own base in one of Chinatown's most premium cocktail venues, working shoulder to shoulder with our ops and sales teams – not tucked away in a back office. You'll work closely with the General Manager and the ops, sales and marketing teams, with real creative license to build the moments, partnerships and content that keep Opium impossible to forget.
What You'll DoOwn the guest experience end to end – every touchpoint, every visit, every impression. Run private event enquiries and bookings, and personally welcome clients on the night, making sure every detail is set before service begins. Coordinate venue events, seasonal activations and collaborations from idea to execution. Build a real network of hotels, concierges, influencers, local businesses and community partners – the people who send us their best guests. Spot the content moments as they happen and coordinate photography/video to capture them; partner with our external marketing agency on campaigns. Read the room at scale: track guest feedback and reviews, and turn them into sharper experiences, menus and activations. Keep every guest-facing corner of the venue looking as good as the cocktails taste.
YouLoud, in the best way – big energy, genuine warmth, and a talent for making people feel like regulars on their first visit. A proven connector, comfortable building relationships and making contacts across hospitality, media and local business. Hospitality, events or guest experience background; bonus points for premium bars, restaurants or immersive venues. Sharp organisational instincts – you can run five things at once without dropping any of them. Tech-savvy and friendly, equally comfortable on a laptop, a booking system or the floor. Genuinely excited by London's bar scene – you already have opinions about it. Available Tuesday to Saturday, with some evenings – that's when the magic (and the events) happen.
Nice to have: marketing experience, social media savvy, and a knack for spotting a content moment before it disappears.
What's In It For YouGreat salary package, top of market for this role in London. A seat at the table in one of London's most talked-about hospitality brands, backed by The Breakfast Group. Real creative ownership over events, partnerships and guest experience. Staff discounts, team incentives, and a clear path to grow within a scaling hospitality group.
