As a Part-Time Purchasing Assistant/ Goods Receiver, you will play a crucial role in supporting our procurement operations. You will work closely within the Purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of goods and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation and management of purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with vendors to obtain quotes and negotiate pricing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, deliveries, and inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to the Purchasing Manager.
  • Assist in supplier evaluation and selection processes.
  • Verify invoices and reconcile discrepancies with vendors.
  • Prepare and analyse procurement reports for management.
  • Assist in researching and identifying potential new suppliers.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends and product knowledge.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to procurement.
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives through effective procurement practices.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role is a plus but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in business or related field is a plus.
