Description

The Pizza Bar on Collins is looking for an experienced Fry Cook. The Fry Cook is responsible for preparing all food according to recipe requirements and adhering to product sensitivities and plate presentations; and ensuring all food meets Pizza Bar standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITES

  • Working the Fryer station, prioritizing orders as they com in to give the best service possible.
  • Maintains compliance with recipe changes, while ensuring proper execution of recipe procedures to maintain a high quality and consistent product.
  • Communicates ticket times and potential problems with the service staff, kitchen staff and managers.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
  • Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate, which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Other:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.  Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the restaurant. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the restaurant’s facilities.  Employees who violate restaurant rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.   

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. 

  • Must possess basic computational ability.   

  • Ability to read recipes and follow their instructions.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

High school or equivalent education required.

Experience

1 year prep cook experience required.
