Description
Job Title: Transportation Lead
About the Role: The Transportation Lead is responsible for overseeing daily
transportation operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of
goods. This role involves coordinating drivers, scheduling routes, maintaining
compliance with DOT regulations, and communicating with internal teams and external
vendors to ensure timely deliveries.
You Will:
●Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the transportation
team (drivers, dispatchers, etc.).
● Plan and optimize delivery routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
● Ensure all shipments are delivered on time and in compliance with
company and regulatory standards.
● Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure all transportation
equipment is in safe, working condition.
● Maintain accurate transportation logs, reports, and documentation.
● Assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations of transportation
personnel.
● Resolve issues related to delivery delays, vehicle breakdowns, or driver
concerns.
● Communicate effectively with retail stores, production team and external
logistics partners.
● Enforce safety standards and company policies, including DOT and OSHA.
You Have:
● High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred).
● 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field.
● Strong leadership and team management skills.
● Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety requirements.
● DOT medical card
● Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
● Proficient in route planning
● Valid & clean driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
