Deli chef

We are looking for a food focused individual to help us deliver our fantastic food range to all of our customers. Consistency really is key for this role. It is important to maintain our standards across our food range. The successful candidate should have excellent organisational skills, be interested in food and want to deliver an excellent product every time. You will be in charge of running all aspects of the food production at FCB including, producing the food items, placing food orders, displaying food, liaising with managers to set amounts to make, keeping a tidy well-organised kitchen and following all food hygiene and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will be available 2/3 days per week (including weekends). Working hours: 6.00 - 13:00 (Great work-life balance - no late evenings!) This is a part time role that requires some flexibility. 

 Expectations

  •         Food safety level two training to be completed.
  •         Responsible for producing all the food that is needed each day in a timely manner.
  •         Maintaining all food hygienically and safely while adhering to all health and safety regulations and guidelines.
  •         Placing all orders that are vital for food productions.
  •         Working closely with your site manager to decide on food displays and numbers and to maximise food sales.
  •         Controlling wastage and stock rotation.
  •         Responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and always up to standard.
  •         Liaising with EHO officials when needed and demonstrating a broad understanding of the regulations.
  •         Training of new staff to deliver the same food consistency that you do.
  •         Speaking directly with our head of food to help maintain standards and maximise food profits.
  •         Display an in-depth knowledge of our food range including ingredients and allergen information.

  •          Food safety level two training.
  •          Allergen information training.
  •          Full kitchen training with our head of food.
  •          Open line of communication with our head of food to help with any issues, questions or additional training you feel you may need.
  •          Initial training and help with placing orders.
  •          Full recipe booklets to help ensure consistency is met. 

Requirements:

  • Experience of food preparation within a fast paced environment is desirable
  • Knowledge and genuine interest/passion in all things food IS essential
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fully up to date with health and safety legislation
