Role: Breakfast Chef (SACHI Japenese Restaurant)
Type: Permanent | Full-time
Report: Head Chef
Salary: £10.50 per hour
Role
We are looking for an experienced Breakfast Chef to join our Pantechnicon team. Your overall responsibility is to manage the kitchen during morning shifts and ensure the food quality is done within the highest standards. You will take charge of the smooth running of the kitchen with full operational responsibilities while adhering to company standards, policies & procedures and statutory requirements. We expect you to lead by example, developing and motivating the team. The Breakfast Chef will be passionate about food, have great organisational skills and be able to work under a fast pace environment.
Responsibilities
• Ensure dishes are prepared, cooked and plated according to the specific restaurant standards
• Controlling the breakfast service and ensuring guests are receiving a memorable breakfast experience
• Ensure stock is rotated and controlled within the sections of the kitchen
• Assist and monitor preparation for the service
• Full understanding of ordering procedures
• Food labelling and temperature checks (following Food Alert specifications)
• Full understanding of the functional administration of the restaurant i.e, docket procedures, pass
• Maintain a detailed knowledge of the full menu and be able to explain dish descriptions
• To ensure that all maintenance and repairs are reported in the correct manner and all equipment is handled carefully, avoiding abuse
• To follow company policies and management directions with a positive attitude
• In service, maintain control, communication and organization of all sections
• Full knowledge in the use of all kitchen equipment and able to train new staff members
• Ensure kitchen has been thoroughly cleaned at the end of each service
• Communicate any staff issues with HR, Senior Sous Chef and Head Chef (lateness, unauthorized absence, poor performance)
• Maintain clear communication with Front of House and Management team
Essential Skills & Requirements
• Previous Breakfast Chef experience within a similar industry is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 2 year’ experience in a similar role
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels
• Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
• Work well under pressure in a busy environment
• Leading by example
• Great organisational skills
• Good attention to detail
