Housed inside an iconic stucco-fronted building on Motcomb Street SW1, this new London destination celebrates Japanese and Nordic creativity and craftsmanship with ever-changing food, drink, retail, design and lifestyle experiences opening Spring 2020.

Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Manager to open our new Kiosk at Pantechnicon London. The Kiosk will be serving a delicious variety of seasonal Japanese dishes along with hot and cold beverages. The Assistant Manager will assist the Kiosk Manager and together ensure everything will run smoothly. Have a strong background in the hospitality industry, specifically in a Café and is passionate about coffee. We are looking for someone with a positive and proactive attitude, possessing great organisational skills and be able to work under a fast pace environment. Who can confidently carry out the responsibilities below:

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the highest standards are kept by the team.
  • Partly responsible for the financial performance and all other KPIs
  • Contribute to the sales and operational targets given, ensuring that those targets and expectations are achieved through regular monitoring.
  • Ensure the monitoring and maintenance of high-quality food and beverage and exceptional standards of customer service at all times. 
  • Ensure that all customer service initiatives are in place and that high standard for quality and customer service are always met.
  • Monitoring and managing customer comments and consistently looking for improvements and solutions.
  • Ensure that we comply with all policies, procedures, and controls. This will include stock control to ensure wastage levels are within guidelines.
  • Make sure that we are compliant with all food safety, health and safety and security procedures and policies at all times. Report hazards immediately and taking the necessary actions.
  • Train, challenge, motivate, encourage, and provide constructive guidance to the team.

 Essential Skills & Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the restaurant or café industry.
  • An understanding or interest of the Nordic & Japanese cuisine and culture.
  • A strong understanding of Food, Health & Safety including COSHH and HACCP
  • Experience in setting customer care standards and resolving customer issues
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels and effectively.
  • Works well in a busy environment and independently.
  • Hardworking, self-motivated and dedicated about the position.
  • A good understanding of budgeting and forecasting.
  • Good working knowledge of general computer/hospitality systems.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Being able to be a storyteller when introducing the menu to the customers.
