Maintenance Engineering Leader


Description

The Maintenance Engineering Leader is responsible for leading the maintenance and repair of all production and facility equipment within the Quality Control Center to ensure 100% availability.  

The role is to provide the day to day leadership of the maintenance team, responsible for 100% equipment availability to ensure product manufacture & supply to stores.  Responsible for ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, Food safety and Quality.

  • Day-to-day leadership of maintenance engineers.
  • Ensure 100% availability of production and site critical equipment. Ensure compliance & develop the preventative maintenance duties to maintain optimum equipment availability.
  • Respond to breakdowns and solve problems in a timely manner with urgency.
  • Substitute for the Engineering Manager in their absence.
  • Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation and capital projects.
  • Ensure equipment adheres to all applicable safety requirements.
  • Work with contractors as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and complete departmental /company records.
  • Conduct repairs to all site facilities.
  • Able to be on call 24/7.  
  • Flexibility to work all shifts as necessary.     
Skills

  • Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Solid foundational knowledge of PLC based controls systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, construction drawings, machine manuals, electrical schematics required.  
  • Demonstrated skills/certification in general maintenance, HVAC/refrigeration, electrical, plumbing PLC logic, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
  • Urgency, problem solving.
  • Drive, ability to work under pressure and lead others.
  • Strong Communication skills at all levels.
  • Communicates written and verbally effectively.
  • Develop and motivate a multiskilled team.
Experience

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot under high pressure.
  • Experience in  an automated production facility, warehousing and distribution operations.
  • Experience in fresh food industry required.
  • GCSE's, NVQ3, ONC/D, C&G 2330, 17/18th Ed.
  • Ability to work shifts in a 24/7 environment.
  • Experience Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
