Maintenance Engineering Leader


Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineering Leader to join a global pizza brand in a crucial role responsible for leading the maintenance and repair of all production and facility equipment within the Quality Control Centre.  

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Day-to-day leadership of maintenance engineers.
  • Ensure 100% availability and safety of critical equipment as per safety standards.
  • Demonstrate skills/certification in general maintenance, HVAC/refrigeration, electrical, plumbing PLC logic, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding. 
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Substitute for the Engineering Manager in their absence.
  • Assist with all aspects of new equipment installation and capital projects.
  • Work with contractors as needed.
  • Develop and motivate a multi-skilled team.
  • Maintain accurate and complete departmental /company records.
  • Flexible to work shifts as and when required.
  • Availability to be on call.

 

Key Competencies and Skills

  • Knowledge of PLC-based control systems.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and construction drawings, machine manuals, and electrical schematics.  
  • Ability to work under pressure and lead others.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
  • Experience in an automated production facility, warehousing, and distribution operations.
  • Experience in the fresh food industry is required.
  • GCSE's, NVQ3, ONC/D, C&G 2330, 17/18th Ed.

 

Working Conditions

Essential functions are performed in a warehousing/distribution/manufacturing environment and in accordance with PJ Food Service safety policies and guidelines.
