Parallel Chef de Partie

Small plates. Big flavours. Serious standards.  

Pay: Hourly rate £12.40 + £4–£5 per hour in Tronc (on average). In addition to your standard hourly wage, you'll receive a share of Tronc, of which 100% is distributed to the team.

We’re looking for a talented and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the team at Parallel by Pasture, a counter-style, small plates restaurant inspired by bold flavours, seasonal cooking, and exceptional local produce. Parallel shares the ambition and momentum of Pasture, but with a distinct, creative approach that’s all its own. Here, we focus on refined, produce-led dishes prepared with a mix of modern and traditional techniques, including cooking over charcoal.

What We’re Looking For

You’re an enthusiastic CDP with a minimum of two years’ experience in quality kitchens. You’ve worked with fresh, seasonal ingredients, and you bring genuine energy and passion to every shift. You thrive in a busy, open kitchen and have a sharp eye for detail, strong time management, and the ability to stay organised and calm under pressure. Whether it’s grilling over charcoal or plating delicate dishes, you bring skill and care to every step. You’re also a team player, someone who contributes to a positive working environment and is always open to learning and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Preparing and executing a range of small plates with precision and flair

  • Running your section efficiently during busy services, keeping it clean and organised

  • Working with charcoal and other techniques to deliver bold, seasonal dishes

  • Supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth, high-quality service

  • Helping to prep and maintain mise en place to the highest standards

  • Collaborating with the team to contribute ideas for evolving, seasonal menus

  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards

You’re a confident Chef de Partie with a calm, consistent presence in the kitchen. You understand the rhythm of a busy service and how to keep your section sharp, clean, and under control. You’re passionate about cooking with great produce and take pride in the detail—whether that’s a seared piece of fish or a carefully balanced sauce. You’re open-minded, reliable, and always up for learning something new. If you're ready to be part of a creative, ambitious kitchen doing something a little different, Parallel could be your perfect next step.
