At Pasture, we believe in fine dining for everyone. Exceptional produce, cooking over fire, slick and engaging service, and an atmosphere that feels exciting without ever being overcomplicated.
Located at 15 Colmore Row in the heart of Birmingham, Pasture brings together open-fire cooking, in-house butchery, carefully sourced ingredients and a soundtrack that keeps the energy flowing. We care about where our food comes from, how it's prepared and, above all, how we make people feel when they walk through our doors.
But great restaurants aren't built on great food alone. They're built by great people.
We invest in our teams, encourage creativity and believe in a culture where respect, support and progression matter. Now, we're looking for an Assistant General Manager to help bring all of that to life.
What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone who brings the perfect balance of fun, professionalism, and leadership to the floor. You’ll have solid experience at Assistant General Manager level (or equivalent) in a busy, high-volume restaurant and feel completely at home running a fast-paced service. You’ll be a natural motivator who leads from the front, supports your team, and brings out the best in everyone around you. You’re consistent, proactive, and dependable, with a genuine passion for people, training, and growing talent. Strong communication is key, along with a solid understanding of service operations, margin control, staff planning, and stock. If you love creating 5-star guest experiences while keeping your team inspired and energised, you’ll thrive in this role.
What you'll be doing
Leading service and setting the standard on the floor.
Coaching, developing and inspiring your team to be their best.
Creating memorable guest experiences and handling feedback with confidence.
Supporting the General Manager and leading the restaurant in their absence.
Overseeing daily operations, team planning and service flow.
Supporting recruitment, training and team performance.
Keeping on top of labour, stock, margins and operational costs.
Maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness and compliance.
Bringing energy to events and special experiences.
Who you are
You've got experience as an Assistant Manager or in a similar role within a busy, quality-led restaurant. You love being on the floor, thrive under pressure and know what it takes to deliver brilliant hospitality.
You're a hands-on leader with personality, professionalism and a genuine passion for people. You communicate well, stay calm when things get busy and know how to balance exceptional service with strong commercial awareness.
You're proactive, organised and take pride in doing things properly. Most importantly, you lead without ego, bring out the best in your team and create an environment where both guests and colleagues feel valued.
What's in it for you?
We want Pasture to be a place where talented people can develop, feel valued and enjoy coming to work. Here's what you'll get as part of the team:
Fair reward: 100% of Tronc is distributed directly to staff.
Bring your people: 20% off food and drink at our restaurants for you and up to five guests.
Room to grow: Opportunities for career development, progression and new challenges.
Recognition that lasts: Long-service benefits.
Do some good: One paid volunteering day each year with a charity of your choice.
Know your produce: Regular trips to our farm and suppliers to discover more about the ingredients and people behind our food.
Support when you need it: Employee assistance programme through Hospitality Action.
Family matters: Enhanced maternity and paternity pay.
More flexibility: Access to Wagestream.
Good times together: Company events, team gatherings and parties.
At Pasture, it's about more than what's on the plate. It's about the produce we source, the experiences we create and the people who make it all happen.
