Be Part of the Original — Join the Team at Pasture Bristol
Pasture Bristol is where it all began. The birthplace of Fire, Meat, Music and the beating heart of everything we stand for. With its character-rich setting, flagstone floors, sweeping staircase, and open kitchen filled with the sizzle of live-fire cooking, this is more than just a restaurant — it’s a celebration of craft, quality, and connection.
From day one, we've stayed true to our roots. We source only the very best suckled native beef from farms across the southwest, all grass-fed and raised with care. Our in-house butchers dry-age every cut for a minimum of 35 days and prepare each steak fresh for service. It’s a level of detail that shows in every dish and defines who we are.
Behind the food is a passionate, tight-knit team, warm, welcoming, and dedicated to delivering unforgettable dining experiences night after night.
Whether you're stepping into the kitchen, joining the front-of-house, or leading service from the floor, Pasture Bristol offers the chance to be part of something truly special — the original flame that started it all.
We’re looking for a Prep Chef, to join our skilled kitchen team and help set each day up for success. This is a key role for someone who thrives on structure, brings a solid skill set, and takes pride in being a reliable and organised presence in the kitchen, especially in the early hours.
At our restaurant, we work in a fast-paced environment focused on seasonal produce, local suppliers, and fire-based cooking. Everything we do starts with great preparation, and your work behind the scenes will ensure that service runs smoothly and efficiently every day.
What You'll Be Doing:
As a Prep Chef, you’ll take responsibility for the early shift—preparing ingredients and completing essential mise en place before service begins. From butchery and sauces to vegetable prep and marinades, your attention to detail and consistency will be vital to the rest of the kitchen’s success. You’ll be expected to follow prep lists accurately, manage time effectively, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation in your section.
You will also play an important role in maintaining food safety and hygiene across the kitchen. A good working knowledge of food safety standards is essential, as is the ability to complete temperature checks and kitchen documentation accurately and consistently.
Working closely with the Head and Sous Chefs, you’ll also help maintain stock rotation, reduce waste, and contribute to a calm and focused kitchen environment.
About You:
- Experienced in food preparation with strong foundational knife and kitchen skills
- Extremely reliable, with a strong work ethic and consistent timekeeping
- Comfortable starting work early and working independently during quiet hours
- Well-organised and efficient, with a focus on quality and cleanliness
- Good working knowledge of food safety standards, including temperature checks and kitchen documentation
- Able to follow prep lists and instructions with accuracy and speed
- A calm and positive presence, supporting the team and ready to help where needed
Benefits at Pasture:
