We are looking to recruit a friendly and experienced play area supervisor. The right person will be involved in the day-to-day running of our busy play area, be able to provide excellent customer service, able to support and train staff, and be able to solve problems, whilst working closely with the management team   join us?

Position Summary

The Soft Play supervisor is responsible for supervising and supporting children and families in the pub’s soft play area, ensuring a fun, safe, and welcoming environment. They will help with safety checks, cleaning, customer service, and engaging positively with children and parents. Building sales through parties and admission, acting local and trying new ideas to encourage repeat visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children in the soft play area to ensure safe play.
  • Greet and assist parents/guardians, explaining rules and procedures.
  • Carry out regular safety checks of equipment and play surfaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, including cleaning tables, floors, and play equipment.
  • Report any hazards, maintenance issues, or incidents promptly.
  • Support the pub team by assisting with birthday parties and group bookings.
  • Encourage positive play, resolving minor disputes between children where needed.
  • Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are always followed.
  • Work with the wider pub team to provide excellent customer service.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Friendly, approachable, and confident in working with children.
  • Good communication and people skills (both with children and adults).
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Basic awareness of health & safety and safeguarding.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with children (e.g., childcare, play centres, schools).
  • First Aid qualification (paediatric desirable).
  • Food hygiene awareness.
  • Experience in hospitality, leisure, or customer service.

Working Conditions

  • Based in a family pub with an indoor soft play area.
  • Hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Role involves standing, moving around, cleaning, and light lifting.
