Description

The Prep Cook is essential for maintaining the quality and consistency of all menu ingredients, responsible for the precise and efficient preparation of items while contributing to the kitchen's cleanliness and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

· Recipe Adherence: Execute all batch recipes for sauces, marinades, stocks, dressings, and sub-recipes with exact precision and consistency.

· Meticulous Preparation: Perform skilled prep work, including knife work, butchery, vegetable preparation, and portioning, ensuring every item meets the restaurant's strict quality and size specifications.

· Resource Management: Actively participate in the restaurant's sustainability efforts by prioritizing efficient yield (trimming waste), utilizing all product components where possible, and minimizing inventory loss.

· Storage & Organization: Accurately label, date, and store all prepped ingredients, strictly adhering to FIFO (First In, First Out) standards. Maintains an incredibly organized and orderly walk-in and dry storage area.

· Cleanliness & Visibility: Maintain an impeccably clean and organized prep area, recognizing that kitchen cleanliness is a critical component of the open kitchen concept.

· Support: Assist the Line Cooks during service by retrieving items, restocking low components, and preparing for the following shift's production.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Previous experience as a Prep Cook or equivalent kitchen role demonstrating high proficiency in knife skills.

· Superior organizational skills and the ability to read and follow detailed recipes accurately.

· Understanding of basic food safety, cross-contamination prevention, and sanitation protocols.

· Highly reliable and possesses a strong work ethic.

· Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and ability to lift 40 lbs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
