Deputy Manager / Assistant General Manager

The Phene is a historic pub in the heart of residential Chelsea with a passion for seasonal British food, top-notch levels of service and a real attention to detail.
Split over four floors, The Phene boasts a leafy terrace garden, three private dining rooms, a restaurant and two relaxed bar spaces. We host over a dozen events and functions a week, keeping us buzzing and vibrant throughout the year. Last year alone we had the pleasure of hosting nearly 250 weddings.
Established in 1853, The Phene become part of the Youngs family in 2024, and the business has well looked after, maintained its identity and continued to thrive! We are proud to call ourselves a pub, and yet, we are so much more than your average pub.

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager / AGM to support in the running of this exciting business.

What we are looking for in a Deputy Manager:

We are looking for a motivated & experienced Deputy Manager / Assistant General manager to help lead them team.
As the successful Deputy Manager you will have a genuine passion for exceptional customer service and a pro-active approach to team management.
You will be enthusiastic & driven to continue the success of our pub and play a pivotal part in training our team to ensure they have the knowledge needed to delight our customers.
As second in command, you will have be confident in running a busy business in which food plays a key role. You will have experience managing kitchen teams, have excellent food knowledge, and have an exceptional eye for detail.
You will help set and enforce standards throughout the business, and be able to problem solve quickly, calmly and effectively.
You'll be a real face for the business and be able to build rapport with the regulars and our wonderful team.
