Description

The Pier House is one of St Austell Brewery’s premier managed houses and serves a contemporary menu championing locally sourced produce, with 27 comfy hotel-style rooms overlooking Charlestown’s historic harbour.

We are seeking a passionate General Manager to deliver exceptional customer service experiences that delight our guests, by leading and energising a team of more than 50 team members. You must have strong business acumen and a drive for developing business and people. 

What it’s like to be General Manager:

  • Lead all elements of the pub operation, guest experience, and commercial management, with a sleeve-rolled-up mentality and a personal leadership style that focuses on putting people at the heart of all we do. 
  • Recruit, train & develop the best people, continually coaching, guiding, and mentoring them to get the best from your team and deliver the best results.
  • Enjoy being a hands-on member of the busy operation, working shoulder-to-shoulder with your team to provide an exceptional guest experience.
  • Take full responsibility for the results achieved within the business, controlling all aspects of finance, regularly reviewing your P&L with your team and the operations team, agreeing on future targets & improvements.
  • Manage all delivery & stock management processes, maintaining a strong GP.
  • Thrive on being a role model to your team who turn to you for support and development, inspiring them to strive for the best in everything they do.

  • Truly passionate about creating positive and memorable experiences that wow your guests.
  • You’ll be a great leader and motivator, inspiring your team to create unforgettable memories whilst delivering the highest possible service and standards.
  • Experienced in controlling cash and stock.
  • Hone your outstanding organisation skills.
  • Hold a personal licence.
