Blending historic character with a contemporary edge, Pillar Hall will be home to a distinctive speakeasy-style bar alongside Idalia, a restaurant concept focused on elevated dining and thoughtful, modern cuisine.

Together, these spaces are designed to deliver atmosphere, creativity, and exceptional service, offering guests a complete and memorable experience. This is a unique opportunity to join a launch team and play a key role in shaping a standout destination from day one.

We are seeking a confident, charismatic, and highly organised Maître d’ to lead the guest experience within our speakeasy-style bar. This is a key front-facing role, responsible for setting the tone from the moment guests arrive - creating a seamless, elevated, and memorable experience that reflects the venue’s distinctive atmosphere of exclusivity, warmth, and theatre.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-end hospitality environment, with a natural ability to manage guest flow, build rapport, and maintain a polished and welcoming presence at all times.

Salary: up to £18 per hour

Contract:  Full Time 40 Hours

What We’re Looking For:

• 2years+ previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality
• Excellent Knowledge of Cocktails and premium liquor and spirits
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of food safety and workplace health standards

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests and create a strong first impression in line with the speakeasy atmosphere
• Manage reservations, walk-ins, and seating efficiently
• Control door entry, capacity, and guest flow
• Handle VIPs, regulars, and special requests
• Act as the main communication link between guests and staff
• Resolve complaints and maintain high customer satisfaction
• Support and coordinate front-of-house team during service
• Represent the brand through appearance, attitude, and service style
• Maximise revenue through smart seating and upselling opportunities
