Pastry Commis Chef

New Opening | Kensington Olympia, London

Be part of something from the very beginning.

A new dining destination has opened within the iconic Olympia London, and we are seeking a talented Pastry Commis Chef to join the team.

Set within the beautiful Grade II* listed Pillar Hall, Idalia offers an all-day dining experience, celebrating exceptional British produce from breakfast through to evening service. On selected evenings, guests can enjoy a lively atmosphere enhanced by soul and jazz performances.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a brand-new opening, help shape the kitchen culture, and grow within an ambitious and expanding hospitality group, D3 Collective.

The Role

As Pastry Commis Chef, you will support the pastry team in delivering high-quality desserts and baked goods, ensuring consistency, creativity, and attention to detail at every stage.

You will play an important role in maintaining smooth kitchen operations, working collaboratively with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to create an exceptional guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

·       Assist in the preparation and presentation of desserts, pastries, and baked items

·       Maintain consistently high standards of quality, taste, and presentation

·       Support the day-to-day running of the pastry section during service

·       Contribute across all service periods, including breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner

·       Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and food safety standards are upheld

·       Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and storage

·       Follow recipes and portion controls accurately

·       Communicate effectively with the wider team to ensure smooth service

What We’re Looking For

·       A genuine passion for pastry and attention to detail

·       Confidence in both classic and modern pastry techniques

·       A positive team player with strong communication skills

·       Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

·       A proactive, motivated, and reliable approach

·       Eligibility to work in the UK

What We Offer

·       Up to £15.50 per hour

·       Full-time role (40 hours per week)

·       28–30 days holiday, increasing with service

·       Structured training and clear progression opportunities

·       Staff meals on duty and uniform provided

·       Reward schemes and long-service recognition

·       The chance to be part of an exciting new opening in one of London’s most recognised venues

If you are passionate about pastry and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic new opening, we would love to hear from you.
