Join the team at Pillar Hall, an exceptional restaurant, bar & events venue located within the iconic Olympia in West London.

We are looking for an energetic, reliable and enthusiastic Barback to join our Front of House team.

Located within the stunning Grade II listed Pillar Hall, our restaurant Idalia celebrates exceptional British produce, delivered with outstanding service and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will be hardworking, organised and proactive, with a genuine passion for hospitality. Working closely with our Bartenders and Bar Manager, you will play an important role in keeping the bar running smoothly and ensuring our guests receive consistently excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Bartenders and the Bar Manager throughout service to ensure the smooth running of the bar.
• Keep the bar fully stocked with spirits, wines, beers, mixers, garnishes, glassware and other essential items.
• Replenish stock quickly and efficiently during busy service periods.
• Prepare garnishes and assist with general bar preparation before service.
• Collect, clean and organise glassware, ensuring sufficient levels are available throughout service.
• Maintain clean, organised and well-presented bar and back-bar areas.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including bar setup and breakdown.
• Receive and organise beverage deliveries and assist with stock rotation and storage.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to the Bartenders or Bar Manager.
• Support the team during private events and functions across Pillar Hall as required.
• Follow all relevant health & safety, food hygiene and licensing procedures.
• Work closely with the wider Front of House team to support a smooth and efficient guest experience.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout every shift.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Barback or within a bar, restaurant or hospitality environment is an advantage, but not essential.
• A positive, hardworking and proactive attitude.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and remain organised during busy service periods.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop knowledge of bar operations, cocktails, spirits and beverages.
• A genuine interest in hospitality and delivering excellent guest experiences.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
• Must have the legal right to work in the UK.

The Role

• £15.21 per hour.
• 40-hour contract.
• Monday to Sunday operation.
