About the Hotel
The CURA Kensington has proudly completed its transformation into a bold Marriott Lifestyle Hotel as part of the Tribute Portfolio. With 132 contemporary bedrooms, a brand-new restaurant and bar, and a creative, independent spirit at its core, our hotel is a vibrant destination for both travellers and locals.
As part of Marriott International, we blend the character and individuality of Tribute Portfolio with the warmth and global reputation of Marriott hospitality.
We are now looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance function and ensure the hotel operates safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.

About the Role
As Maintenance Manager, you will take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring that all guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment and building systems are maintained to an excellent standard.
You will lead the maintenance team, manage preventative maintenance programmes, oversee contractors and suppliers, and ensure full compliance with health & safety, fire safety and Marriott brand requirements.
This is a hands-on leadership role, and we are looking for someone who is equally comfortable managing the maintenance operation and getting involved practically when required.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the hotel's day-to-day maintenance and engineering operations.
  • Manage, support and develop the maintenance team, ensuring clear priorities and effective allocation of daily tasks.
  • Ensure guest maintenance requests and operational issues are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Develop, implement and monitor planned preventative maintenance programmes across the property.
  • Carry out regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, plant rooms and equipment.
  • Oversee general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, HVAC and other building-related works.
  • Ensure all hotel equipment, systems and facilities are maintained safely and efficiently.
  • Manage external contractors and suppliers, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to the required standard.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, compliance documentation, service reports and certification.
  • Monitor maintenance stock levels and manage the ordering of tools, equipment, parts and supplies.
  • Support the management of maintenance budgets and identify opportunities to control costs and improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with all hotel departments to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations.
  • Identify recurring maintenance issues and implement effective long-term solutions.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency maintenance situations and building-related incidents.
  • Ensure the overall physical condition and presentation of the hotel consistently meets Marriott Brand standards.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure full compliance with company health & safety, fire safety and security procedures.
  • Maintain all required statutory inspections, servicing records and maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure contractors follow hotel safety procedures and appropriate risk assessments and method statements are in place.
  • Report and address hazards, defects and unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Ensure the maintenance team completes all required safety training and certifications.
  • Support hotel audits and ensure maintenance-related actions are completed within required deadlines.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and safety within plant rooms, workshops and maintenance areas.
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and best practices relating to hotel maintenance and building safety.
About You
  • Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Chief Engineer or similar facilities leadership role, ideally within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong practical knowledge of general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry and painting.
  • Good understanding of planned preventative maintenance and statutory compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety and fire safety requirements.
  • Confident managing contractors, suppliers and maintenance projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a practical and proactive approach.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple operational requirements.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all hotel departments.
  • Professional, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards.
  • Flexible to support the operation when required, including responding to emergency maintenance situations.
