Description

Proper Hospitality is seeking an experienced and highly-motivated Corporate Director of Business Travel & Leisure Sales to join the team at our corporate headquarters in Los Angeles.

The Corporate Director will be committed to supervising a portfolio of Business Travel (BT) and Consortia accounts for Proper Hospitality’s luxury lifestyle hotels (currently 11 properties and growing).  This position will collaborate in setting and driving strategy on enterprise-managed accounts along with identifying and developing new revenue and market share growth opportunities.

 Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this position will also be instrumental and aligned to directly support the sales teams at existing and new hotels to optimize business from this segment.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate across functions with corporate sales and revenue leadership and hotel field teams on account strategy and facilitating revenue and market share growth
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with Design Hotels and other third party partners
  • Provide regular progress reports and detailed summaries of production and sales activities
  • Utilize data insights and tools to determine account optimization (Delphi, D360/A360, Cvent) to enhance performance outcomes
  • Manage administrative oversight of Cvent/Lanyon RFP facilitation and actively liaise with hotel partners throughout the bidding and negotiation process
  • Recommend and monitor business travel and consortia engagement across both managed and local accounts
  • Work with Vice President of Sales to ensure hotel partners are properly equipped and supported to capture and maximize revenue
  • Create and strengthen relationships with designated luxury and leisure business partners and key Business Travel, Consortia, Travel Agencies, and Transient accounts
  • Ensure that the organization is highly targeted in its sales efforts, prioritizing attention on generating business from customers and markets which will deliver the highest ROI
  • Analyze industry trends, key competitors and customer behaviors to alter strategies and tactics based on any such changing conditions
  • Develop relationships, awareness and partnerships that drive our brand vision
  • Travel, entertain, and attend trade shows and events to increase visibility and drive revenues
  • Collaborate with support departments to ensure customer service and strategy are being executed effectively
  • Any other task or duty assigned or required
  • Encourage cross-selling in the portfolio

Professional/Personal Qualifications:

  • Our desired candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of 10 years in the hospitality industry
  • Preferably 2 or more years previous experience in luxury market: with established customer relationships in the Corporate BT/Entertainment/Leisure Travel segments
  • Must be a quick learner and adapt to a dynamic, fluid working environment
  • Possess highly-developed analytical and negotiating skills
  • Customer relation and interpersonal skills
  • Time-management and organizational Skills
  • Strong presentations skills
  • Technical comprehension of applications pertaining to Sales, Revenue Management and Distribution
  • Willing to work on developing and managing key relationships across the organization and within the book of accounts
  • Thrive in fast-paced and entrepreneurial setting
  • Takes initiative with a positive attitude
