Housed in a landmarked, flatiron-style building in San Francisco's vibrant Mid-Market district, San Francisco Proper Hotel features captivating interiors by Kelly Wearstler, three inspired settings for meals or a cocktail, incredible rooftop views and impeccable service and amenities.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, a passion for creating memorable guest experiences and the ability to manage all aspects of hotel operations with the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team dedicated to delivering personalized and exceptional guest service
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and a commitment to excellence
  • Implement and maintain training programs to ensure colleagues are well-equipped to meet San Francisco Proper's service standards

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations across all departments, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance
  • Ensure the hotel operates efficiently, adhering to all legal and safety regulations, while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation
  • Monitor and optimize operational costs to maintain profitability without compromising quality

Guest Experience

  • Uphold San Francisco Proper's reputation for luxury and service excellence, ensuring every guest has an outstanding experience
  • Manage guest relations, addressing any issues or feedback promptly and professionally
  • Continuously innovate and enhance the guest experience, staying ahead of industry trends

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the hotel’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded
  • Analyze financial performance, implementing strategies to maximize revenue and control costs
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to drive occupancy and revenue growth

Brand & Property Management

  • Maintain brand standards, ensuring that all aspects of the property reflect the San Francisco Proper's luxury positioning
  • Oversee property maintenance and improvements, ensuring our hotel’s facilities are in impeccable condition
  • Collaborate with ownership and corporate teams to align on long-term strategies and initiatives

Sales & Marketing

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain a high-end clientele
  • Partner with the sales and marketing team to create and execute targeted marketing campaigns
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including travel agents, corporate clients, and local businesses, to drive bookings and brand awareness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in luxury hotel management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of managing all aspects of hotel operations with a focus on luxury service and guest satisfaction
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets, forecasts and financial statements
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team
  • Exceptional communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for luxury hospitality and a commitment to delivering unparalleled guest experiences
