Description

The Assistant Manager maintains operational excellence of the restaurant in the absence of the manager. Supervises staff to ensure food safety, product preparation and cleanliness standards are maintained. Maintains standards of restaurant safety and security. Upholds inventory and money control systems. Supportive of maintaining business records. Exceptional guest service is a major component of this position.

 Responsibilities

·       Upholds and enforces restaurant standards.

·       Follows approved shifts on the posted work schedule to control labor costs.

·       Conducts follow-up training and further development of staff.

·       Reinforces changes of food preparation formulas, standards, etc to staff.

·       Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained and company safety and security policy are          followed.

·       Assists with maintaining business records as outlined in the Subway® Operations Manual: Daily Procedures.

·       Supports local and national marketing initiatives.

·       Understanding of restaurant’s financial performance.

·       Provide feedback to manager for staff performance evaluations, wage increases or disciplinary action needed.

·       Completes University of Subway® courses as directed.

·       May be required to work shifts opposite the manager.

  Prerequisites

·       Experience: Prior food service and supervisory experience preferred.

·       Computer knowledge a plus.

·       Education: High school graduate or equivalent.

  Essential Functions

·       Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·       Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale (POS)            system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10              pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
