D&D London is a diverse and vibrant collection of 43 restaurants (including one with a Michelin Star) and an award–winning hotel situated in London and beyond. Founded by Des Gunewardena and David Loewi (the D and D in the name) in 2006, the company has rapidly expanded and contains some of London’s most iconic restaurants, such as Bluebird, Le Pont de la Tour, Sartoria, German Gymnasium and 14 Hills. Outside London the company has made their mark by opening Crafthouse, Angelica, Issho and East 59th in Leeds, 20 Stories in Manchester and Klosterhaus in Bristol.

We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our Purchasing team. This role will act as a support function within the Purchasing team. The role will be responsible for the management and updating of the purchasing system, production of weekly and monthly departmental reporting and data management for the Purchasing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the internal database is updated regularly with agreed changes to suppliers, products and pricing
  • Ensure that the restaurants, and chefs in particular, are aware of supplier prices and agreement
  • Ensure accuracy in all supplier pricing template
  • Researching new products and potential vendors
  • Updating the team about any delays or problems with suppliers
  • Conduct competitor analysis
  • Maintaining strong relationships with vendors
  • Staying up-to-date with industry and market trends
  • Monitor supplier performance via agreed KPIs
  • Manage the departmental reporting function e.g. monthly sales mix reporting, monthly spend reports, category performance reports etc.
  • Administer monthly and quarterly departmental income schedules
  • Departmental first point of contact for restaurants for queries regarding information in internal database
  • First point of contact for the Finance team for queries regarding supplier retrospective payments
  • New opening Project Support; updating budget, raising orders, ensuring all items are received OTIF
  • Management and organisation of monthly Purchasing team meeting
  • Support to Purchasing Director – meeting coordination, expenses processing and general assistance


Key Requirements:

  • Organised and diligent with a keen eye for detail
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with experience of working with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Project management skills
  • Strong working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of working within the supply chain or working in a finance team is desirable
  • Experience of using a purchasing system and administrating information about suppliers and pricing is desirable
