Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:
• Importing and auditing of the Daily Revenue Reports ensuring its accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues.
• Reconciles all miscellaneous revenues
• Completes period end journals.
• Prepares all necessary period end closing reports.
• Completes forecast accuracy report of rooms, guests, and food and beverage outlets
• Timely preparation of reports as requested to develop a more informative database for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities
• Managing the receipts and deposits of cash and bank transactions to endure accuracy of financial position
• Preparation of daily bank reconciliation statement and timely follow up of all outstanding items.
• To compute taxes owed and prepare monthly VAT and WHT tax returns, ensuring returns are filed accurately and on time
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted polies and procedures.
• Reconciling the Cash, Bank Transfer and Cheque Clearing accounts ensuring prompt follow up and clearance
• Preparing the Credit Card Reconciliation
• Prepare for Financial Audit and helping with coordinating the Audit Process
• Preparing the Balance Sheet Pack and ensuring that all supporting documents are attached.
• Following Internal Controls
• Timely management of Petty Cash and posting of Petty Cash Vouchers in Accpac
• To review and check the accuracy of the Bank Transfer postings in Accpac
• Reviewing Casual Wages
• Assist in reviewing monthly payroll
• Carrying out review of all General Cashier’s reports ensuring accuracy and reporting any deviations immediately to the AFC and FC
• Preparation of daily cash flow reports to be circulated to AFC and FC
• Ensure ability to step in to perform any of the accounts departments staff duties when on leave or away
• Reviews and scrutinizes business performance, objectives and standard accounting practices, providing recommendations that will drive financial performance and provide added value
• Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required

Requirements of the Financial Accountant:
- A degree and experience in the Financial Accounting. A Chartered Accountant or ZICA certified with 3-4 years’ experience.
-Proven experience in accounting with excellent problem-solving capabilities
-Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
-Personal integrity, with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence, time and energy
-Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms
-Strong communication skills
