Key Responsibilities of the Head Chef:
- Supports the smooth running of the kitchen department, where all aspects of the guest dining experience throughout the whole Hotel are delivered to the highest level
- Provides the highest food quality consistent with cost control and profitability margins to maximise guest satisfaction and food profitability
- Manages the kitchen teams fostering a culture of growth, development and performance within the department
- Ensures that proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices are followed
- Responsible for the departmental budget, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attained & Quality goals are achieved
- Utilises leadership skills and motivation to maximise team member productivity and satisfaction
Requirements of the Head Chef:
- Driven and ambitious to inspire the team to consistently deliver and exceed service standards
- Proven experience in kitchen management with excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent managerial skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style
- Commitment to exceptional guest service with a passion for the hospitality industry
- Ability to find creative solutions, offering advice and recommendations
- Commercially aware
- Experienced in using IT systems on various platforms
- Strong communication skills & numerical skills
- Working knowledge of budgets, scheduling, menu creation, project implementation & team motivation
