PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

To handle Guest laundry in a professional & profitable manner by providing efficient, prompt, courteous, trouble free and proactive laundry service to guests in order to maximise laundry revenue and guest satisfaction. To maximise the customer satisfaction by providing neat, clean and attractive hotel linen and staff uniform.

All work will be in line with the hotel’s guidelines and business plan, the departmental business plan, and the Radisson Hotel Group’s corporate guidelines and service concepts

TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide neat, clean and attractive hotel linen, guest laundry and staff uniforms with constant high quality.

  • Report to duty as per the schedule and gather information on the hotel occupancy, VIP in house and other priorities.
  • Maintains linens according to hotel and corporate standards by monitoring condition of linens and repairing and/or replacing linens as necessary
  • Supplies washers with chemicals and has sufficient chemical in stock to meet variances in demand.
  • Understands basics and maintenance of laundry equipment
  • Writes maintenance reports in regards to replacement or repair of machine parts and keep the supervisor updated.
  • Notifies engineering if further actions need to be taken
  • Co-ordinates linen inventories and report discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Carry out the monthly inventories of uniforms and hotel linen as per the instruction from the supervisor.
  • Supervises the daily activities of the out sourced laundry workers
  • 10. Keep the supervisor updated on the chemicals consumption and other      operating supplies as required.
  • Handles the daily inventory keeping of all hotel linen goes out to the outsourced laundry company and receiving it back after wash/ dry clean.

 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

• Ensures safety, maximum security and confidentiality to the hotel at all times

• Keeps master keys secure and returns it at the end of each shift

• Reports any suspicious individuals seen in the building

• Turns in articles found from the guest laundry, staff uniforms and hotel linen 

   to Housekeeping Office for proper “lost and found” Handling.

• Reports all potential and real hazards immediately

• Reports any defective equipment immediately

   Is fully aware of all departmental fire, emergency and bomb procedures

• Knows how to protect self against chemicals, and aware of harmful chemical used

   in department

• Works in a safe manner in regards to lifting, utilizes equipment, chemicals and

   protective devises as instructed

• Looks for possible and probable hazards and conditions and brings them to the

   attention of the Supervisor

• Keeps self to the highest standards of personal hygiene, uniform, appearance, body

   Language and conduct

 

MISCELLANEOUS

   Adheres to hotel policies and procedures

• Starts working on time

• Wears appropriate uniform correctly, and makes sure it is in good condition

• Uses practical shoes approved by the Supervisor

• Uses no nail polish

• Is straight forward and brings problems and concerns to the Supervisor

• Co-operates with other departments

• Attends meetings as required by Supervisor or Laundry Manager

• Is a team player

• Attends training requested by Supervisor or Laundry Manager

• Accepts flexible work schedule when necessary and requested by Supervisor

   Or Laundry Manager

• Maintains own working areas, materials and company property clean, tidy and in

    good shape; reports defective materials and equipment to Supervisor

• Continuously seeks to improve way of working

• Brings ideas relating to the job to the Supervisor’s attention

• Knows where to refer guests, and find information regarding hotel facilities, opening

   hours and location of restaurants, bar, health club, parking, and location of public

   and in-house telephones.
