Key Responsibilities of the Kitchen Technician:
Supports the smooth running of the Engineering department, ensuring all kitchen and laundry equipment is maintained to the highest standards
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of kitchen equipment such as ovens, burners, fryers, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and other catering machinery
Diagnoses faults and carries out timely repairs to minimize operational downtime
Ensures all equipment complies with safety, hygiene, and statutory regulations
Responds promptly to maintenance requests from the Kitchen and F&B teams
Maintains proper documentation of maintenance activities for audits and compliance
Assists in controlling costs and managing spare parts inventory
Builds effective working relationships while promoting company culture and values
Requirements of the Kitchen Technician:
Relevant technical qualification in electrical/mechanical trade or kitchen equipment maintenance
Proven experience in maintaining commercial kitchen equipment (hotel experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems related to catering equipment
Hands-on approach with a can-do work style
Commitment to supporting exceptional guest service within a hospitality environment
Ability to troubleshoot and provide effective, timely solutions
Basic knowledge of IT systems for maintenance reporting
Strong communication skills
Personal integrity with the ability to work in an environment that demands excellence
