Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Fire & Security Manager :

Security Management & Operations

Ø  Supervise the security department including recruitment, scheduling, and team management.

Ø  Monitor entrances, exits, back-of-house, and guest floors using CCTV and patrols.

Ø  Handle all access control points (guest rooms, staff lockers, service areas, deliveries, etc.)

Surveillance & Incident Response

Ø  Respond promptly to emergencies (theft, intrusion, guest disturbances, fire alerts).

Ø  Coordinate with local police or emergency services when required.

Ø  Investigate all reported incidents; maintain confidential and detailed incident reports.

Guest & Staff Safety

Ø  Ensure discreet protection of VIP guests and high-profile events.

Ø  Conduct bag checks, staff frisking, and manage movement of materials (Gate Pass system).

Ø  Oversee crowd control, especially during functions, events, and high occupancy periods.

Training & Compliance

Ø  Conduct regular training on hotel security protocol for all security personnel.

Ø  Ensure compliance with safety audits, fire drills, and mock emergency exercises.

Ø  Liaise with HR to ensure smooth onboarding and background verification of staff.

Technology & Systems Oversight

Ø  Monitor and maintain electronic surveillance, alarm systems, metal detectors, and visitor logs.

Ø  Ensure fire alarm control panels are functioning and integrated with security systems.


Requirements of the Assistant Fire & Security Manager:

Ø  Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably with a background in law enforcement, military, or hospitality security.

Ø  7–10 years of experience in security operations in hotels or the service industry.

Ø  Knowledge of security systems, CCTV operation, and local legal protocols.

Ø  Excellent crisis management, communication, and leadership skills.

Ø  Certifications in first aid, firefighting, or disaster management are advantageous.
