TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PROVIDE A SAFE AND SECURE HOTEL
FOR GUESTS AND EMPLOYEES
- Security officer is mandated to be present at all
times at staff entrance when the staff are entering or leaving the hotel.
- He / She must position at main vehicle entrance
to monitor and corrects any anomaly occurring
- He/ She must write incident report, update in the
OB print and file, fill in weekly incident tablet for reference.
- Co-ordinate with police agencies in the
investigation and handling, accidents etc. involving employees and guest.
- Patrols the hotel in regular basis and documents
activities in accordance with corporate safety and security policies and
procedures
- Ensures and Enforce security controls i.e.
searching Employees, when leaving and during the course of duty during
investigation.
- Ensure safety of the guest within the hotel
premises and advise them of their safety while outside the hotel
- Attends required hotel meetings to keep abreast
of in-house activities / promotions and events: - maintain communication
with other departments throughout the hotel.
- Maintain order at the lobby by ensuring that no
illegal business takes place and ensure that guests are comfortable.
- Ensure that routines and procedure to securely
close down the different outlets at the end of opening time.
- Ensure that all meeting rooms and exhibits room
are secured to keep unauthorized individuals out of the area and prevent
theft.
- Completes
daily security log, including pertinent information from the shift.
- Reports to security manager immediately of any
customer complaints.
- Attends departmental meeting as required to
communicate effectively with all accounting personnel to ensure that they
are kept current with pertinent hotel information and activities.
- Ensure that hotel guests are not harassed by
undesirable persons within the hotel and its immediate surroundings.
- Enforce control of hotel properties in all
departments i.e. Housekeeping, laundry, Fitness Centre, F&B Outlets,
Engineering to ensure no hotel property is stolen.
- Ensure compliance with fire, safety and emergency
procedures.
- Inspect on a regular basis the security
protective installation i.e. alarms system, floor emergency exits etc.
- Demonstrate an understanding and an awareness of
all policies and procedures relating to health, Hygiene and fire life
safety.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency and
evacuation procedures.
- Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near
misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention
of the SS/SM.
- Patrols
the hotel on a regular basis and documents activities in accordance with
corporate safety and security policies and procedures.
- Handles
complaints, investigates, and thoroughly reports on guest or employee
injuries, thefts, assaults, lost property, car accidents, loud parties,
vandalism, and other safety and security related issues.
- Ensures
that routines and procedures are in place to keep all hotel entrances and
exits are locked and unlocked per hotel policy.
- Maintains
hotel key management procedures and ensures that all keys are accountable
and only authorized persons have access to keys
- Ensures that all potential and
real hazards are communicated and taken care of immediately.
