Area Director of Finance & Control


Description

Integral member of the Area Leadership Team who participates in the strategic and profitable development of the company’s activities in the respective Area.

Provide the necessary financial expertise to the Company and its representatives, Area senior vice president and Area Team where required in order to assist the decision making process.

Responsible for supporting the coordination of the reporting activities in the Area; analysis and interpretation of statistical and financial information to appraise profitability, capital expenditure and performance against comparable periods required by management.

Provide an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity, identifying opportunities aligned to the Corporate strategy for improving management control, designed to add value, improve the organization’s operations and achieve RHG Corporate objectives.

Support the strategic development in the area by providing support to and assisting both Business development and Asset management.

Roles/Responsibilities

Directs and Controls the reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities of all business units within the Area, ensuring the production of complete, accurate and timely information, not being limited to solely financial information.

Completes the review of monthly operating unit results, assisting and distributing the consolidated Area result to Senior Management and assisting in their interpretation and in developing appropriate on-going actions and business responses. Performs monthly review and follow up of operating units’ Capex spending & RHG Accounts Receivable.

To be sufficiently knowledgeable to be able ensure the integrity of the local financial information and that this is aligned with local legislation and reporting standards (IFRS and GAAP) where appropriate. This includes the responsibility for the management and reporting of all legal, audit and corporate tax and indirect tax issues within the Area.

Communicates, implements and maintains Group’s policies and procedures and Group’s reporting and Group’s endorsed systems (choice and set up) which guarantees the integrity and accurate presentation of financial results and operational KPI’s.

Coordinates and supports the activities of the Regional Financial Controllers, District Controllers and Hotel Financial Controllers, through effective regular communication and meetings as required. Where necessary is directly involved in the recruitment of the aforementioned positions.

Co-ordinates and supports –where applicable- the activities of the (Accounting) Shared Service Centres and/ or External (Accounting) Service providers through effective and regular communication and meetings as required.

Ensures risk management in the Area through Internal Audit & insurance compliance in all properties & that management operations are in accordance with management contracts, where applicable.

This specifically includes monitoring RHG equity participation in hotel operating companies and loans to counterparts of IMA’s.

Ensures that there is process in place to adequately review the integrity of the financial records and processes at a hotel level, both leased and managed. This will include scheduled and unscheduled visits or a structured programme of Hotel visits with the Area support functions to review the books and records where appropriate or meetings with Outsourced partners.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Minimum education: Professional Accounting/ Finance Qualification

Minimum experience: Regional Controller or similar, with previous experience of responsibility for a minimum of 20 business units

Language skills: Fluent English (Advanced - С2)
