ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Cluster Director of Sales, you will lead, mentor, and oversee the sales team operating in Oslo and Bergen. Your primary goal will be to ensure robust commercial performance across corporate transient, meetings & events, governmental business, and air crew segments for some of our largest hotels in these vibrant locations.

In this key position, you will take charge of generating business for your team's assigned accounts, including managing your own client portfolio. Your role involves a deep understanding of the unique needs of each hotel within your area, enabling you to craft and implement a tailored sales strategy. Acting as a crucial liaison, you will support internal stakeholders and collaborate with key revenue generation functions, contributing to the overall commercial strategy of the company.

The position is based in Oslo.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and implement initiatives across all assigned hotels to drive revenue growth.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage account managers within your team.
  • Direct all sales activities within your cluster, ensuring account managers achieve their sales objectives.
  • Set specific, measurable commercial goals to drive profitable market share.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of account managers to ensure targets are met.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide strategic input for successful business and revenue plans.
  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve commercial objectives for hotels in your cluster.
  • Produce sales reports and forecasts.
  • Manage an effective account management strategy, ensuring visibility of account plans to the wider internal community.
  • Identify and pursue new sources of potential business.
  • Support the Meetings & Events department in following up on outstanding inquiries and recovering lost business.
  • Participate in commercial meetings as needed.
  • Develop and maximize the potential of your client portfolio.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong leadership, management, and sales coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in Norwegian and English (written and verbal).
  • Commercial understanding of the market, industry, and customers in the region.
  • Consultative selling skills and business case orientation.
  • Background in Hotel and/or Meetings & Events is an asset.
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., SAP Sales Cloud), hotel systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in multiple markets and a multi-property organization.
  • Well-organized with the ability to plan and manage your workload.
  • Active listener with the intuition to recognize and act on potential sales opportunities.
  • Proven track record of high achievement and delivering results.
  • Customer-driven with the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • High level of commercial and financial awareness.
