JOB TITLE: Waiter

DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage

RESPONSIBLE TO: Food and Beverage Manager, Breakfast Manager, and Assistants/Supervisors

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To maintain high standards of service.


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent waiting service to ensure member satisfaction
  • Taking customer orders and delivering food and beverages to the tables
  • Ensuring food safety and health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Ensuring catering areas are clean and tidy at all times.

 

Job brief

We are looking for a skilled Waiter or Waitress to take orders and deliver food and beverages to our members.

Responsibilities include greeting and serving members, providing information on menus, multi-tasking various front-of-house duties. Able to perform well in a fast-paced environment, be polite with our members, be a team player and be able to effectively communicate with the kitchen to make sure orders are accurate and delivered promptly.

It is a 7 day operation and will require working often during weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort members to their tables
  • Understand the breakfast menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
  • Prepare tables by setting up linen, cutlery and crockery
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders
  • Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
  • Serve food orders
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Carry dirty plates, and crockery to the kitchen for cleaning
  • Follow all relevant health and safety and food safety regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests

 

Requirements and skills

  • Similar experience preferred but not essential.
  • Attentiveness and patience with members
  • The ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills
