What you'll be doing...
When you enter our hotel you will be “wowed” and we aspire for our guests to be bowled over too in experiencing the soul of our stunning property accompanied by the authenticity and passion of our dedicated Heartist® team. Behind the scenes we work collaboratively and strategically to set the stage and maximise sales opportunities.
This position would suit an ambitious Director of Revenue, who is eager to take their career to the next level and truly make their mark in a role that offers autonomy and ownership. Leading the commercial total revenue strategy for Liverpool’s only 5-star hotel.
Reporting to the General Manager, The Commercial Director – Revenue, is responsible for developing, implementing, and communicating a commercial strategy to deliver RGI and TrevPAR targets. Working alongside the Commercial Director Sales & Marketing to align the wider Commercial Team. Covering all segments and channels to maximize the TrevPAR and EBITDA position
Commercial Director - Revenue Role Summary and Responsibilities
· Responsible for developing a commercial strategy covering all segments and channels, identifying new opportunities to maximize total revenue and profit performance as well as market share penetration of the hotel, to meet budgeted RGI and EBITDA targets.
· This role will lead the planning and execution of the commercial strategy, alongside the Proactive Commercial Sales and Marketing Commercial Director and team and with direct responsibility for the Event Sales & Reservations Office Manager and Team. Working effectively with area support teams and brand. Focusing on Total Revenue across F&B and Spa.
· The Commercial Director Revenue is a role model for the commercial community, develops their team and individuals whilst being a key business partner to the General Manager and Commercial Director S&M. The Commercial Director - Revenue’s role is crucial to lead and direct activity in line with business pace and budget targets, as an ambassador for the company with our Key Stakeholders, also leveraging the brand and management company relationships for commercial success.
· The role ensures that commercial management strategies agreed are in place for all revenue streams and they ensure that all booking systems, platforms, TARS (channel manager), IDEAS, Premier Core, Restaurant booking Systems are used to their full potential to yield the highest possible amount of revenue from all available space, whether in Rooms, Meeting Space, Food and Beverage or Spa.
· The Hotel is seeking a dynamic Commercial Director – Revenue to lead this area of the business in this property.
· The Commercial Director will be responsible for establishing a commercial strategy reaching all segments and channels to ensure maximum market penetration and peak profit performance. Ensuring a long- and short-term strategy is in place and communicated effectively.
· This role involves continuous communication with the Brand team, RBH Commercial Team and on property teams to effectively align the planning and execution of the commercial strategy.
· The Commercial Director is expected to proactively lead the Reservations and Sales team he/she coordinates and to be an active advocate of our company values. Providing development and direction to support the Event Sales and Reservations Office Manager as required.
· The Commercial Director – Revenue will ensure that all required lead times are met for response to enquiries by the team they are overseeing. Ensuring training and development is in place to proactively support the team to grow and strengthen.
· The Commercial Director – Revenue will be a confident leader, capable of delivering presentations to all stakeholders including ownership. Leading a weekly internal commercial strategy meeting, and quarterly commercial presentation with the brand and management company commercial teams.
Business Awareness
· To dynamically drive the planning, execution and presentation of commercial strategy and activity alongside the commercial director S&M.
· To familiarize yourself with all revenue and booking systems within the department and hotel to understand process and to ensure all are being used efficiently to drive maximum results.
· To capture maximum market share penetration and peak profit performance in unison with key departments and personnel.
· To ensure all enquiries are responded to within the KPI set out.
· To meet budgeted RGI and TrevPAR targets through maximization of total revenue and profit performance.
· In alignment with commercial management strategies, ensure that all booking systems are used to their full potential to yield the highest possible amount of revenue from all available hotel outlets.
· To operate as an ambassador for the company, positively influencing brand, management company and key stakeholder relationships for commercial success.
· To be a proactive client-oriented leader that inspires through action and communication.
· Understanding of inbound markets along with national and local market opportunities.
People Management
• To recruit for new team members within budget in conjunction with the HR Director / GM and complete a thorough departmental induction.
• To review employee performance through regular communication, departmental meetings, one to ones and performance reviews.
• To be responsible for your own personal development at work and strive to be the best in what you do, taking care and pride in your work.
• To support the team through coaching and development. To assist with on property ad-hoc training as required to maintain departmental efficiencies.
• To support GMs & hotel personnel to understand and interpret business requirements and required performance levels.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements...
· Minimum 3 years Director Revenue in a 4-star hotel with a proven results driven approach
· Minimum 3 years brand experience, Accor experience advantageous
· Previous IDEAS, Opera Cloud experience advantageous, not essential.
· Understanding of local market drivers, international luxury markets, luxury programs and consortia channels required
