We are currently recruiting for an exceptional General Manager to lead the team at Aloft Liverpool, a bold and design-led lifestyle hotel by Marriott. Set in the iconic former Royal Insurance Building in the heart of Liverpool, Aloft blends heritage with modernity, offering a vibrant guest experience that reflects the energy of the city.

With 116 stylish bedrooms, a lively W XYZ Bar, meeting and event space, and a prime location near Liverpool ONE and the business district, Aloft Liverpool attracts a mix of leisure, corporate, and group guests. The hotel combines Marriott's global standards with a unique local flavour, appealing to a new generation of travellers who value design, energy, and authenticity.
The Role
We are looking for a commercially astute and people-focused leader to take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the hotel. This role reports directly to the RBH Operations Director and requires an individual who can balance hands-on leadership with strategic thinking.
The successful candidate will:
Take ownership of the full P&L, delivering against budgeted targets and driving profitability across rooms, F&B, meetings, and ancillary revenues.
Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team across all departments, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Champion team engagement through strong communication, recognition, and career development opportunities, ensuring every team member feels empowered and valued.
Drive revenue growth through proactive commercial planning, working closely with revenue, sales, and marketing teams to optimise pricing, distribution, and market share.
Lead on sales strategy, ensuring the hotel maximises all market segments and capitalises on business opportunities within the local and national landscape.
Maintain exceptional guest service standards, ensuring brand compliance and delivering memorable, experience-led service at every stage of the guest journey.
Oversee operational excellence, ensuring all areas of the hotel operate seamlessly-from front desk and housekeeping to food and beverage and maintenance.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, legal requirements, and Marriott brand guidelines.
Build strong owner relationships and maintain regular reporting on performance, risks, and opportunities.
Represent the hotel externally through community engagement, business networking, and PR initiatives that raise the profile of the property.
Identify opportunities for service innovation, sustainability, and enhancing the hotel's market position.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a General Manager or Hotel Manager in a full-service or lifestyle hotel environment.
Strong understanding of commercial performance, including revenue management, sales strategy, cost control, and profit optimisation.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, challenge, and develop high-performing teams.
Passion for delivering outstanding service and enhancing the guest experience at every touchpoint.
A hands-on leader who can be visible and supportive across all departments, leading by example.
Experience working within a branded environment (ideally Marriott or similar global brand) with a deep understanding of compliance and operational standards.
Skilled communicator with the ability to influence, engage, and collaborate effectively with internal teams, owners, and external partners.
Confidence in presenting performance updates and commercial strategies to senior stakeholders.
