A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BREAKFAST CHEF AT WOTTON HOUSE

• Prepare, cook, and present all breakfast items to a consistent, high standard

• Deliver both buffet and à la carte breakfast service efficiently during busy periods

• Set up the breakfast section before service, ensuring all mise en place is ready and organised

• Maintain buffet presentation throughout service, replenishing items as required

• Monitor food quality, temperature, and presentation at all times

• Ensure all food is prepared in line with food safety, hygiene, and allergen regulations

• Keep the kitchen and workstations clean, tidy, and compliant with HACCP standards

• Assist with stock rotation, date labelling, and minimising food waste

• Communicate effectively with senior chefs and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service

• Support the wider kitchen operation when required, including prep for events or functions

• Close down the breakfast section correctly after service, ready for the following day

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU...

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen, ideally in a hotel or high-volume breakfast environment

• Confidence preparing and cooking breakfast items to order and for buffet service

• Ability to work early morning shifts reliably, including weekends and bank holidays

• A good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety, and allergen awareness

• Strong time management skills and the ability to stay calm during busy services

• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider kitchen team

• Attention to detail and pride in producing consistent, well-presented food

• Good communication skills and the ability to take direction from senior chefs

• A flexible approach and eagerness to learn and develop within the role
