Opened in 2020, the Hilton Garden Inn Stoke-on-Trent is a modern, 140-bedroom hotel featuring state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces, a fully equipped gym, and a vibrant bar and restaurant. As part of the globally recognised Hilton family of brands, this hotel has quickly established itself in a competitive market—and now we’re ready for the next chapter
We're searching for our next Sales Superstar—an ambitious and driven Director of Sales ready to lead from the front.
This is a standout opportunity to join the hotel’s senior leadership team and make a tangible impact. You’ll be at the forefront of driving strategic sales initiatives, developing long-term business relationships, and unlocking new revenue streams to position the hotel for continued success.
We’re looking for a results-oriented, self-motivated sales leader with a strong understanding of the hotel industry and a passion for proactive selling. If you’re ready to shape the commercial future of a top-tier Hilton property, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
·
Strategic Sales Leadership:
Drive the hotel’s commercial success by leading the development and execution
of a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the overall business plan.
Collaborate directly with the General Manager and senior leadership to set
targets, identify growth opportunities, and position the hotel competitively
across all market segments.
·
Account Management & Business Development:
Take ownership of key national and local corporate and agency accounts,
strengthening existing partnerships while actively identifying and converting

·
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, partners,
and stakeholders. Lead rate negotiations, manage account performance, and
deliver bespoke solutions to exceed client expectations and maximise retention.
·
Brand & Market Positioning:
Serve as the hotel’s brand ambassador and strategist—clearly define the hotel’s
unique value proposition and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Think creatively to differentiate the hotel in a competitive market and support
long-term brand growth.
·
Marketing Support:
Support the delivery of marketing activity in collaboration with the General
Manager and RBH Marketing Team, ensuring initiatives align with sales goals and
brand standards.
·
Revenue Optimisation:
Partner with the Revenue Manager to analyse market trends, monitor competitor
activity, and implement targeted promotional strategies. Lead regular reviews
to evaluate performance, adjust tactics, and drive RevPAR and overall
profitability.
·
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Inspire, lead, and develop the on-property commercial team, including direct
oversight of the Reservations Supervisor and Meetings & Groups Sales
Executive. Foster a results-driven, collaborative environment that champions
proactive sales and customer service excellence.
·
Reporting & Insights:
Deliver timely, accurate sales and marketing performance reports to
stakeholders and hotel ownership. Translate data into actionable insights,
providing clear recommendations for ongoing improvement and innovation.
·
Industry Engagement:
Actively represent the hotel at trade shows, networking events, and industry
exhibitions to build awareness, generate leads, and stay informed on market
developments and customer trends.
·
Collaboration with RBH Central Sales Team:
Work closely with RBH’s central sales function to ensure the hotel is
well-represented in national campaigns, agency partnerships, and strategic
initiatives across the wider portfolio.
What We’re Looking For:
While we hire primarily for personality, passion, and potential, there are a few key qualities and experiences that will set you up for success in this role:
·
Proven
Sales Experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hospitality sales role, with a strong
track record of meeting—and exceeding—commercial targets across multiple
segments.
·
Inspiring
Leadership:
A confident, people-focused leader who knows how to motivate, develop, and
guide a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability and
collaboration.
·
Strategic
Thinking:
Sharp commercial instincts and the ability to interpret market trends, business
intelligence, and performance data to inform smart, revenue-driving decisions.
·
Marketing
Awareness:
A solid understanding of marketing principles and how they support the sales
function, with experience collaborating across teams to deliver aligned
campaigns.
