We're now looking for a passionate, creative and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at the award-winning Holiday Inn Blackpool.

Located in the heart of Blackpool, our hotel is home to Platform 9 Bar & Kitchen, our vibrant food and beverage destination welcoming hotel guests, local residents and visitors alike. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAD CHEF AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...

1. Lead from the front – Take full ownership of our kitchen operation, inspiring and developing your team to consistently deliver exceptional food and memorable dining experiences.
2. Bring creativity to the table – Drive menu development and innovation across Platform 9 Bar & Kitchen, creating exciting, fresh and commercially successful dishes that appeal to both hotel guests and the local market; in line with both IHG brand standards.
3. Deliver exceptional standards – Oversee all aspects of food preparation, presentation and service, ensuring consistently high-quality dishes across breakfast, all-day dining and meetings and events.
4. Develop a winning team – Recruit, coach, mentor and motivate your kitchen brigade, building a positive, supportive and high-performing environment where everyone can thrive.
5. Take ownership of kitchen performance – Manage food costs, gross profit, labour budgets, stock control and purchasing, balancing commercial performance with outstanding quality and guest satisfaction.
6. Champion food safety and compliance – Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, allergen management, health & safety and HACCP compliance, ensuring the kitchen operates safely and efficiently.
7. Work collaboratively – Build strong relationships with the wider hotel leadership and Food & Beverage teams, ensuring a seamless guest experience and identifying opportunities to grow our food and beverage business.
8. Keep pushing boundaries – Bring fresh ideas, challenge existing ways of working and play a key role in building on the success of one of the UK's highest-performing Holiday Inn hotels.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• An experienced and passionate culinary leader, ideally with previous Head Chef experience or a strong Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
• A genuine passion for food, creativity and delivering outstanding dining experiences.
• Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop a successful kitchen team.
• Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing food costs, GP, labour budgets, stock and purchasing.
• Experience delivering consistently high standards within a busy hotel, restaurant or similar hospitality environment.
• A creative mindset, with the confidence to develop menus, introduce new ideas and continually enhance our food offering.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, allergen management and kitchen compliance.
• A hands-on, positive and proactive leadership style, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and support your team when it matters most.
