Description

JOIN OUR TEAM

At the Lyndene Hotel, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional hospitality and creating memorable experiences for our guests. Our team is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and rewarding working environment where everyone can thrive.

As one of Blackpool's leading hotels, we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Maintenance Team Member with painting and decorating experience to help maintain the high standards of presentation and safety throughout the hotel.

OUR HOTEL

The Lyndene Hotel is one of Blackpool's most established seafront hotels, welcoming thousands of leisure and group guests each year. With a large number of guest bedrooms, public areas, restaurants, bars, entertainment venues, and back-of-house facilities, maintaining the hotel's appearance and functionality is essential to delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Working as part of our Maintenance Team, you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel remains safe, well presented, and operating efficiently.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MAINTENANCE TEAM MEMBER

No two days are the same in this varied role. While painting and decorating will be your primary responsibility, you will also support the wider maintenance team with general repairs and upkeep across the hotel.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out painting and decorating work to a high professional standard throughout guest bedrooms, corridors, public areas, restaurants, bars, function rooms, offices, and back-of-house areas.
  • Preparing surfaces, including filling, sanding, repairing damaged walls, and ensuring high-quality finishes.
  • Refreshing décor as part of planned maintenance programmes to maintain the hotel's appearance and minimise disruption to guests.
  • Completing reactive maintenance tasks, responding promptly to repairs affecting guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities.
  • Assisting with basic plumbing, joinery, maintenance repairs, and general building maintenance where required.
  • Identifying maintenance issues during daily inspections and reporting any defects requiring specialist attention.
  • Ensuring all tools, equipment, and materials are used, maintained, and stored safely in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and COSHH regulations.
  • Working safely at height using appropriate access equipment where required.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation across all working areas.
  • Supporting colleagues across departments to ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently while causing minimal disruption to guests.
  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures and contributing to a safe working environment for guests, visitors, and colleagues.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys maintaining high standards within a busy hotel environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in painting and decorating, ideally within hotels, hospitality, commercial properties, or a similar environment.
  • Experience carrying out general maintenance and basic building repairs.
  • Good practical knowledge of decorating techniques, surface preparation, and finishing.
  • A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance requirements, including occasional evenings and weekends where business needs require.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety practices, including safe working methods and COSHH regulations.
  • A positive attitude with excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with guests and colleagues.
WHY JOIN THE LYNDENE HOTEL?

As part of our team, you'll be joining one of Blackpool's best-known hotels, where your contribution will have a direct impact on the experience of thousands of guests each year. We offer a supportive working environment, opportunities to develop your skills, and the chance to be part of a hardworking team committed to maintaining the highest standards across the hotel.
