ROLE OVERVIEW

Support the Maintenance Manager in upholding the hotel’s high standards, ensuring every guest space, facility, and back-of-house area is well-maintained, safe, and operating efficiently. Play a key role in day-to-day operations, helping to deliver a seamless and comfortable guest experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining the hotel’s standards by ensuring all areas, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities, are clean, safe, and fully operational
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in leading the team, promoting a proactive and hands-on approach to repairs, maintenance, and daily tasks
  • Help implement and maintain a preventative maintenance programme to reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment and facilities
  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues, assisting with both routine tasks and emergency repairs to minimise disruption to guests and staff
  • Work closely with other departments to address maintenance needs, including room readiness, upgrades, and guest requests
  • Assist in monitoring departmental expenses, sourcing cost-effective solutions, and supporting supplier coordination where required
  • Carry out regular inspections across the hotel to ensure compliance with safety standards and brand expectations
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by supporting team development and maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Stay informed about maintenance best practices, tools, and technologies to support efficient operations

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within hospitality or a similar environment
  • Good working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance
  • A proactive and practical approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to support and motivate a team, working collaboratively under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager
  • Basic financial awareness to assist with cost control and resource management
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to urgent issues
  • Flexibility to assist with out-of-hours support, including occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call duties
  • A genuine commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and guest-focused environment
