A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHEF DE PARTIE AT OUR HOTEL 

What you'll be doing...

  • Assist in preparing ingredients for various dishes, from chopping and slicing to marinating and portioning, to ensure each station runs smoothly.
    • Manage and oversee a designated kitchen section, ensuring the timely preparation and delivery of high-quality dishes during service.
    • Supervise, mentor, and support Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants, providing guidance to maintain high culinary standards.
    • Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented consistently in line with the restaurant's recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
    • Monitor stock levels within the assigned section, assist with ordering, rotate stock, and minimise waste while maintaining accurate inventory control.
    • Maintain exceptional standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and HACCP compliance, ensuring all equipment and workstations are kept clean and operational.
    • Coordinate effectively with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations, efficient service, and continuous improvement of kitchen performance.
    • Take responsibility for mise en place, section organisation, and quality control, ensuring readiness for service and adherence to health and safety regulations.

    WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

    • Genuine interest in cooking and enthusiasm for learning in a professional kitchen.
    • Some previous kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to work hard and learn is essential.
    • Understanding of basic food prep techniques and a commitment to improving your skills.
    • Strong attention to detail, especially regarding cleanliness and food safety.
    • Team-oriented mindset, able to take direction well and support colleagues as needed.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, staying focused and reliable during busy services.
