THE ROLE – MAINTENANCE TEAM MEMBER

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Maintenance Team Member to join our team and help keep Wotton House looking and working at its best.

This is a varied role where no two days will be the same. One moment you could be helping resolve an issue in a guest bedroom, and the next carrying out routine checks, supporting an event set-up or helping maintain our historic building and grounds.

You’ll work closely with teams across the hotel, responding to maintenance needs and making sure our guests and colleagues have a safe, comfortable and well-maintained environment.

You’ll be:

• Carrying out day-to-day repairs and general maintenance across the hotel

• Responding to maintenance issues and helping resolve them quickly and efficiently

• Completing routine checks and identifying potential maintenance or safety concerns

• Helping maintain our guest bedrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces and facilities

• Working closely with other departments to keep hotel operations running smoothly

• Supporting preventative maintenance and keeping accurate records where required

• Following health & safety procedures and safe working practices

• Developing your skills and knowledge, with training and support from the team

We’re looking for someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems and getting stuck in.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A practical, hands-on approach to work

• Good general maintenance or DIY skills

• Strong attention to detail

• Confidence working independently as well as part of a team

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• A positive, can-do attitude

• A willingness to learn and develop new skills

• Flexibility to occasionally work weekends on a rotational basis

Previous maintenance experience would be an advantage, particularly within a hotel, hospitality or facilities environment, but just as important to us is finding someone with the right attitude, practical mindset and willingness to learn.
