JOIN OUR FAMILY

At RBH we believe our people are our biggest assets and understand the value in putting them first. Our approach to diversity in the workplace, health & wellbeing, sustainability and individuality sets us apart from our competitors and is one of the reasons we are rated Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality! We are passionate about the industry and always on the lookout for new talent to join us on our journey...

OUR HOTEL

The Met Hotel Leeds has undergone a bold transformation — more than just a refurbishment, it's a complete reimagining. Located in the heart of Leeds city centre, we’ve created a destination that’s both timeless and trendsetting. From sleek interiors to a vibrant food and drink offering, The Met is where heritage meets lifestyle.

Now we’re looking for Bartenders who bring energy, creativity, and personality to every pour — and help us shape unforgettable guest experiences at the heart of our dynamic bar.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BARTENDER AT THE MET HOTEL, LEEDS

As a Bartender, you’ll be right in the middle of the action, crafting cocktails, serving drinks with flair, and delivering high-energy service that keeps our guests coming back for more. Whether you’re shaking up a classic or recommending the perfect wine pairing, you’ll bring knowledge, style, and a personal touch to every shift.

You’ll work closely with your bar team and Head Bartender to ensure service runs smoothly, the bar looks sharp, and every guest feels seen, welcomed, and wowed.

In this dynamic role, you’ll not only bring energy and expertise behind the bar but also support the wider restaurant team, delivering exceptional service across both bar and floor to create a seamless guest experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Deliver exceptional service that’s engaging, efficient, and always guest-focused, both in the bar and restaurant.
  • Support the event bar during key periods.
  • Mix and serve a wide range of drinks from our cocktail, wine, beer, and soft drink menus — with accuracy, flair, and attention to detail.
  • Work as part of a passionate, upbeat team, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every shift, both within the bar area and the restaurant.
  • Keep the bar fully prepped and the presentation-perfect — from garnishes to glassware, and keep an eye on your table customers to ensure they are fully catered for.
  • Learn from the Head Bartender and take part in ongoing training to develop your skills and product knowledge.
  • Upsell premium products and suggest pairings that elevate the guest experience.
  • Handle payments, follow operational procedures, and keep the bar running smoothly.
  • Maintain high hygiene and safety standards — because a clean bar is a happy bar.
  • Share ideas, guest feedback, and trends with the team to help shape future service.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We hire mostly on personality & potential, but here are a few of our requirements:

  • A love for all things food and drink — you’re curious, creative, and know your way around a cocktail shaker.
  • Previous experience in a bar or hospitality setting would be advantageous (but we’ll provide training too).
  • A warm, energetic personality — you make guests feel like the most important person in the room.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
  • Flexible and reliable — happy to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of a rota.
  • Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges with a smile.

WHAT WE OFFER

Why this role?

  • Be part of an exciting transformation at one of Leeds’ most iconic hotels.
  • Work in a lively, creative environment where your individuality is valued.
  • Competitive hourly rate, tips, and flexible hours to suit your lifestyle.
  • Learn from experienced bartenders and grow your skills every day.

You will also have access to a benefits package we believe truly works for our people:

  • Discounted hotel room rates for you and your friends & family
  • An additional day’s leave for your birthday
  • Enhanced maternity, adoption & shared parental leave
  • Course sponsorship & training opportunities
  • 30% F&B discount at RBH hotels
  • Refer a Friend scheme—earn £250 per referral (up to 5!)
  • Wagestream—choose how and when you get paid
  • Life Insurance

  • Social and wellness events all year round
  • Free meals on duty (saving you over £1,000 per year!

…and much more!
