JOIN OUR FAMILY

At RBH we believe our people are our biggest assets and understand the value in putting them first. Our approach to diversity in the workplace, health & wellbeing, sustainability and individuality sets us apart from our competitors and is one of the reasons we are rated Top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality!  We are passionate about the industry and always on the lookout for new talent to join us on our journey...

OUR HOTEL

The Met Hotel is evolving, not quietly, but confidently. We’re reinventing what it means to dine, drink, and stay in Leeds, and our food & beverage offering is front and centre in that transformation. Whether it’s breakfast with a sunrise, cocktails with conversation, or dinner with flair, we make it stylish, social, and seriously well done.

We’re looking for a Restaurant Host who’s got presence, personality, and a touch of theatre. Someone who can command a room without raising their voice, who understands that great hosting is equal parts confidence, care, and charisma. You’ll be our guest’s first and last impression and the energy that carries them through their experience.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RESTAURANT HOST AT THE MET HOTEL, LEEDS

This is hospitality in motion and you’re the heartbeat of the room. From buzzing breakfasts to elegant evenings, you’ll be across it all. You’ll greet, seat, and charm guests, manage reservations and walk-ins like a pro, and support the floor with style and grace. Whether it’s a working lunch, romantic dinner, or post-meeting drink, you’ll ensure every guest’s journey starts (and ends) on a high.

What you’ll do:

  • You’ll be the elegant thread that runs through every guest journey; whether it’s a relaxed lunch, a lively evening service, or a bar visit that turns into a night to remember. From the first hello to the final farewell, you’ll ensure every experience is smooth, stylish, and full of personality.
  • Welcome guests with confidence and warmth, setting the tone for an exceptional experience
  • Manage the flow of service, handling reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists with flair and efficiency
  • Prepare the restaurant and bar for service polishing glassware, aligning table settings and making sure every detail is just right
  • Manage menus, daily specials, and host station materials to ensure everything is up to date and beautifully presented
  • Anticipate guest needs, offer recommendations, and handle any queries or issues with professionalism and positivity
  • Delivering drinks, taking orders, resetting tables, running dishes and stepping in wherever needed to keep service smooth, stylish, and guest-focused
  • Assist with breakfast, lunch, or dinner shifts depending on business needs bringing the same level of polish and poise across every service
  • Build rapport with regulars, add personal touches, and help uphold the atmosphere and values that make The Met a standout destination

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

We hire mostly on personality & potential, but you’ll shine in this role if you have:

  • A natural ability to make people feel welcome and looked after
  • Confidence under pressure, with strong communication and coordination skills
  • Experience in a high-standard restaurant or bar setting (ideally in a hosting or front-facing role)
  • A love for food and hospitality, with a good knowledge of current food trends, service standards, and menu offerings.
  • A stylish approach and sharp eye for what looks and feels good
  • Flexibility to work across breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts as business demands
  • A genuine enthusiasm for the hospitality industry, with a passion for creating memorable, authentic dining experiences.
  • Good humour, quick thinking, and a touch of charm never go amiss

WHAT WE OFFER

Why this role?

  • Be a key player in the exciting reinvention of The Met Hotel Leeds, shaping a dining experience that’s authentic, fresh, and unforgettable.
  • Work in a culture that values creativity, individuality, and ambition.
  • Competitive salary, performance incentives, and plenty of room to grow.
  • Help create an atmosphere that’s not just stylish but vibrant, bold, and full of life.

You will also have access to a benefits package we believe truly works for our people

  • Discounted hotel room rates for you and your friends & family
  • An additional day’s leave for your birthday
  • Enhanced maternity, adoption & shared parental leave
  • Course sponsorship & training opportunities
