SUMMARY

The Assistant Finance Controller will support the Financial Controller in overseeing the daily operations of the finance department. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, and supporting the broader hotel leadership team with financial insights.

What you'll be doing...

  • Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.  
  • Prepare and review daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies in accounting records.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and strategic business plans.
  • Maintain and enhance internal control systems to safeguard hotel assets and ensure adherence to company financial policies.
  • Oversee general ledger accounts, bank reconciliations, and monthly balance sheet reviews.
  • Coordinate and support both internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
  • Support key financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow management.
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights, encourage cost-saving initiatives, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior finance staff to ensure high performance and professional development.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Previous experience in hospitality or a related industry in finance/accounting roles
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy, especially in financial reconciliation
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in financial software systems and strong general IT skills (e.g., Excel, ERP systems)
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced work environment
