Responsibilities
  • Prepare and submit insurance claims using electronic and manual systems.

  • Follow up with insurance companies and patients regarding outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate and organized billing records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.

  • Assist in generating billing reports and analyzing trends to improve processes.
  • Stay updated on changes in billing codes, insurance policies, and industry best practices.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in medical billing preferred.
  • Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within health, wellness, or fitness settings.
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) and billing software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic understanding of insurance policies, claims processing, and healthcare regulations.
